Canadian Company David Whysall Fireworks wins 1st Place at Da Nang Int’l Fireworks Competition

The first International Fireworks Competition ever in Vietnam at the central city of Da Nang. The 2 day competition drew competitors from Hong Kong, Canada and Malaysia to plan, setup and execute a fireworks display along the Han River. The top winners were Canada, Hong Kong (China) and Malaysia. The Canadian team was David Whysall International Fireworks who encountered many obstacles from the transportation of equipment, getting fireworks from China into Vietnam and more.

PyroPlanet.com (PP) asked David Whysall (DW) about the travel they had endure, "The flights were long - 30 hours to get there because of difficult connections and all flights booked so we had to take what we could get."

PP "How was the organization of the competition?"
DW "The organization was superb - Joe Ghazzal and Global2000 and his crew were magnificent."

PP "Any problems with shipping product from Canada to Vietnam?"
DW "The firing equipment was held up for 2 days at Danang airport so that didn't help with set up time. The local organizers were also very good and cooperative and laid on transport, interpreters and a first class hotel.

PP: "How was the setup?"
DW: "We worked from first light to dark for 7 straight days.We lost a module of 45 shots as a result of a low explosion of one of (Pyromagic) Team Hong Kong's 6" shells - we couldn't do much about that so we fired 45 shots short."

PP: "Good time?"
DW: "All in all - a great experience."
